Audiomagnetotelluric method

The magnetotelluric method (or Audiomagnetotelluric, AMT) measures the electromagnetic fields in the earth generated by external sources.

The analysis of different frequencies (inversely proportional to the depth of investigation) with a specific inversion algorithm (Occam, i.e.) lead to a profile of the electrical resistivity of the underground, with varying depths of investigation in the range of 100-200 m up to several thousand of meters.
